Business Mission Development

Peter Drucker has said that the purpose of all businesses is to serve the needs of its Customers.  We agree with this statement and believe all businesses that work with Stage 2 Planning Partners should be clear about their mission, vision, values and goals.

Mission is always the starting place.  It’s a short statement that tells all your stakeholders what’s important about your business and what you do.  Having a good mission statement allows you to integrate your mission statement in all aspects of your business.

Once a solid mission is established you can then build supporting statements for your mission that becomes vision statements.  Both your mission and vision statements come from company values that make your organization unique.

Finally, corporate goals always flow out of mission, vision and values.  When you have a solid grasp of corporate mission the goals that are necessary for implementation become evident.

The following are some of the activities associated with corporate mission activities:

  • Developing corporate mission statement.
  • Integrating vision into mission.
  • Integrating mission into all aspects of your business.
  • Development of goals that support mission, vision and values.
  • Development of corporate values that support corporate mission.
